Her role in the series was a major hit, yet she was concerned about the image of Mary Camden as a "good girl" would limit her abilities to perform. To change this image, she appeared on the Gear cover, partially clothed. Jessica's action caused much debate among her fan base. The show she was on ended 7th Heaven after performing in the sixth season. Her performance was lauded as Casey Jackson, a teenage girl from Ulee's Gold that brought her the attention of everyone. In fact, she was awarded the award for best supporting young actress award for this movie. Summer Catch, a comedy movie that she starred in was a testament to her ability as an actor. Her movie Rules of Attraction did not have much success despite her outstanding performance. The role she played on The Texas Chainshaw Massacre, a horror movie attracted the attention of the world. She's also featured in suspenseful film and proven herself to be an actress.
